DEAN HAWK, Lead Pastor

Dean is the founding pastor of Rock.  He has been married to his wife, Kim, since 1983 and they have three adult children; Alesha, Allyson and Preston. Since 1981 Dean has served in the full time ministry.  Prior to starting the church in 2004 he served as a Youth and Associate Pastor in three different churches.   Along with his current pastoral duties Dean is also an adjunct professor at Charis Bible College in Woodland Park.

One word that would describe Dean is “creative.”  Through illustrated sermons, stories, and visuals he makes the Bible come alive with his creative communication style to ignite people in their walk with God. His favorite thing about being a pastor is connecting with people.  Every Sunday you will find him hanging out in the lobby before or after services greeting people.

Dean’s favorite guilty pleasure is Oreo Cookies.  He enjoys most movies based on true stories (but with lots of action) and his favorite chick flick is The Notebook because he hopes when he leaves this earth he goes with Kim.  Dean enjoys working out, skiing, and spending time with his wife.  The ultimate vacation for him is being on a cruise ship in the Caribbean.  A few things on his bucket list are to skydive, scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef, and see a dead person come back to life. The best book Dean has read so far this year is Die Empty.

KIM HAWK, Associate Pastor

Kim has served in the ministry alongside her husband, Dean, since 1983. From kids to teenagers and adults, she enjoys ministering to all ages. Along with her role as CFO for Rock, she manages Dean Hawk Ministries, teaches aerobics, and is a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer in the community--although her favorite role is being married to her best friend.

Her energetic and contagious attitude, in addition to her love for her church family are evident. Kim has served in multiple roles since the inception of the church including Children’s Pastor and Women’s Director. She is affectionately known most around the office for statements such as, “How many bids did you get?” and “Do you have a coupon for that?”

Mondays are Kim’s date day with her husband, Dean, where they can be found enjoying a movie, going to the mountains, shopping, hiking or reading books.  She loves to exercise, hopes to visit Fiji someday, and is ecstatic when the bank statement balances the first time.

MIKE KECK, Lead Associate Pastor

Mike has served in full-time ministry since 1997 and says he is just getting warmed up! He is passionate about developing individuals in their God-given potential. Mike previously served as our Youth Pastor and is now serving as our Lead Associate Pastor. Be careful, Mike is highly contagious and if you hang around him you might get addicted to reaching others for Christ!

Mike and his wife, Elizabeth, have been married since 1996 and have the privilege of raising their two boys, Kaige and Kaiden. His favorite movie is Braveheart, he enjoys hiking and snowboarding and at the top of his bucket list is to cruise the Panama Canal.

MATT SHERMAN, Youth & Family Pastor

Matt Sherman has been serving in youth ministry since 1999.  Although occupational ministry was not originally his original life’s ambition, he witnessed firsthand the course of a teenager’s life being directed to pursuing a life in Christ and then found the cause and purpose of his own life.  That cause has only been strengthened with an urgency to see teen’s lives transformed to which he will dedicate the rest of his life to fulfill this purpose. Matt is committed to show teenagers that they are loved, accepted, and that they can find their identity, hope, forgiveness, joy, freedom, guidance and encouragement as a follower of Christ.

Besides his love for his beautiful wife, Jeannie, and two amazing elementary-aged daughters, Ruby and Haven, he loves fire and coffee. The book Greater by Steven Furtick is one of his favorites and he hopes to hike the Grand Canyon at some point in his life.  Did we mention he LOVES coffee?

JESUS & IVETTE REYES, Spanish Campus Pastors

Jesus and Ivette have been in pastoral ministry since 2005 and have a strong passion for reaching the lost and helping the needy. They have been married since 1998 and have three beautiful daughters; Adriana, Angelica and Alejandra.  Jesus is originally from the beautiful island of the Dominican Republic and is a bi-vocational pastor who works as a Systems Engineer. He loves baseball and is a long time Yankees fan. Jesus enjoys desserts (especially Oreos) and loves spending time with his family, especially vacation time.

Ivette was born in New York City to a Dominican family and is also bi-vocational, teaching Spanish to High School Students at Coronado High School.

She loves theater, art, museums, good food and to travel to big cities; however, she has also grown to love and appreciate mountain living here in Colorado. Chicken wings and french fries make her very happy.

KATE MUGUIRA, Worship Pastor

Kate was raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, and was born into a musical family. She graduated from the University of Louisiana with a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Science in May 2011 and then from the New Life School of Worship in June 2012. Kate has been involved in praise and worship for over 10 years and is excited about getting others involved in worship and using the gift of music to bring people closer to Christ.

One of Kate’s favorite books is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers and she loved the animated movie Brave.  She hopes to visit New Zealand someday since that is on her bucket list. She loves writing/playing music, the outdoors, and playing any sport. Kate has been writing songs since she was young and doing anything to further her passion for music and worship.  Since Kate’s immediate family is out of state, she considers Rock her hometown family.

KYLE KELLER, Children's Director

Kyle grew up in Wisconsin and moved to Colorado in August 2013 to attend Charis Bible College where he graduated with a focus in Children’s and Youth Ministry (and met his wife Andrea).  He loves spending his free time outdoors either hiking, biking or in the winter months snowboarding in the mountains.  Along with a passion to share Jesus with people, Kyle is an avid enthusiast of Sririacha hot sauce.

ANDREA KELLER, Children's Assistant

Andrea grew up in Florida and moved to Colorado in the summer of 2013. Since then, she has graduated Charis Bible College, married her husband Kyle, and has called Rock Family home. She grew up doing theatre and as a result, loves sharing the gospel in a fun and entertaining  way.

If Andrea could choose to be any inanimate object, she would choose to be a candle. Andrea has always wanted to be a light in the darkness. Her friends and family see her with this light and it becomes contagious.

Andrea enjoys the Back to the Future trilogy, all things Disney related, theatre and spending time with her husband Kyle.

ELIZABETH KECK, Women’s Pastor

Elizabeth and her husband, Mike, have two sons Kaige and Kaiden and they made Rock Family Church their home in 2010.  Her desire is for every woman to live out their God-given purpose and her bold transparency assures women they are not alone.  Elizabeth believes that creating an atmosphere where women can grow spiritually, while celebrating their individual womanhood is a platform that cultivates freedom.  She believes we are all called to SHINE.

Displaying a fluent nature in team building and service design, he exhibits a tenacious pursuit to improve the quality for our guests at every experience.

Soon after moving to Colorado Springs from California (in 2013) with his two huskies, Kona and Dakota, he found himself immediately consumed by the beauty of this state. He spends most his free time exploring the wild in his Jeep; discovering new places to hike, camp and hunt.
